Crude, Insensitive Pro-Immigration Lobbyist Calls VOICE ‘Disgusting and Dangerous’

Published on May 8th, 2017

While President Donald Trump’s base evaluates his immigration accomplishments and his failures during his first 100 days, one victory is clear cut. When the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) office announced its opening in late April, it fulfilled one of President Trump’s most frequently made campaign promises. The office will give a voice to families that Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said “are too often ignored.”

Kelly added:

“All crime is terrible, but these victims are unique….They are casualties of crimes that should never have taken place because the people who victimized them often times should not have been in the country in the first place.”

DHS Secretary announces VOICE office opening, comforts victims’ families.

VOICE will have 12 call centers, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement will provide the personnel. Read the DHS press release here.

Regardless of how egregious the crime an illegal alien may have perpetrated against a citizen, the Obama administration refused to acknowledge the tragedy. Infamously, after Juan Francisco Lopez- Sanchez shot and killed Kate Steinle in San Francisco, the White House didn’t reach out to her family. Mary Ann Mendoza and Steve Ronnebeck, whose sons were killed in Arizona by illegal immigrants, confirmed the Obama administration’s indifference to their heartbreak. Mendoza wrote to then-President Barack Obama, but never got a response. And Ronnebeck’s calls to the Obama White House to ask where the justice was for his son, Grant, went unanswered. Grant was killed over a pack of cigarettes.

Despite what should be unanimous agreement that grieving families whose loved ones are gone forever because an illegal alien killed them deserve compassion, immigration advocates got off cruel, ignorant cheap shots. Frank Sharry, long-standing illegal immigrant lobbyist, called VOICE “disgusting and dangerous.”

Sanctuary cities have enabled many criminal aliens to remain free and put many innocent citizens, including the children of Mendoza and Ronnebeck, fatally at risk. California residents, please go to the CAPS Action Alert page here to tell the Assembly to defeat SB 54, the sanctuary state bill. Others can contact your representatives here to convey the same message: no more sanctuary cities.
