Obama Border Security Grade: F
President Obama receives an F from me on border security. (I also gave George Bush an F as I did Bill Clinton.) But, Obama earns his failing grade quicker than the other two chief executives because the need for border security has never been more obvious since the time of Pancho Villa and General Pershing. And he is failing to address it.
"We've got a very big border with Mexico," Obama said. "I'm not interested in militarizing the border…We're going to examine whether and if National Guard deployments would make sense and under what circumstances they would make sense…I don't have a particular tipping point in mind."
No particular tipping point in mind? What mind? Mexico has seen 7,000 killed in the past year. I don’t think that many died in Iraq and Afghanistan combined during the same period. Juarez, Chihuahua has had 1,400 murders since January of 2008. Mexico is so unstable that last November a U.S. military assessment said that Mexico could be near collapse.
Tipping point?
How about this? Because of the Mexican drug cartel war and the porous border, Phoenix, Arizona (that’s still in the United States, BTW) is now the kidnapping capital of North America. It ranks 2nd in the world. Get it? I get it. The people of Phoenix get it.
Yet, the only response out of Washington, DC is an investigation of local Sheriff Joe Arpaio who is being investigated because he is one of the few brave law enforcement executives in the entire country willing to go after illegal aliens in his jurisdiction in an attempt discourage more illegals and criminals from coming to Phoenix. This would be laughable if it wasn’t so tragically stupid.

And, speaking of Phoenix, the capital of Arizona, where is Janet Napolitano, the head of the Department of Homeland Security? As the former governor of Arizona whose residence has been Phoenix for at least the last six years one would expect her to be doing everything possible to protect and defend the constituency who elected her to that state’s highest office…twice. That deer-caught-in-the-headlights look she gave on 60 Minutes was less than inspiring. For her lack of response to the outrageous illegal alien violence in the American city she resided in just two months ago. I give her an F-.
According to the Dallas Morning News: “Obama emphasized he will continue working closely with Mexico and said within "a few months" he will offer a comprehensive policy to curtail U.S. demand for drugs and curb the southbound flow of cash and guns that give the cartels "extraordinary power,” as he put it.

Brilliant. In a few months he will offer a policy.
Vowing better funding for addiction treatment and treating the situation like a health problem is bureaucratic speak for doing nothing.
This is 21st Century Neroism; Fiddling while Mexico burns.
If you want to help Mexico stop the violence, stop the drugs and thugs from crossing into our country by putting the military on the border, now. Arm them with orders to interdict everything and everybody coming across. If they get shot at, shoot back and end it the situation right there. That is what we can do to help Mexico, secure our border and protect our citizens. http://www.capsweb.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=248
Action, not words or promises is going to solve this problem. Until action is taken, the Obama Administration is a failure on border security.
