I'm going to say it again, and I am positive it won't be for the last time, hiring foreign workers isn’t about “A nation of immigrants” or "matching willing workers with willing employers" or “doing work that Americans won’t do” or any of the other mindless, lying, self serving shibboleths we have heard over the years. It is about tossing out American workers in favor of cheaper labor. Period. That's it.

And it is happening at all levels of employment. From the days when Cesar Chavez worried that cheap Mexican labor would replace Chicanos, Hispanic American field workers, to today's banking jobs where the U.S. taxpayer is paying wages for foreign workers at the expense of American workers. The AP story reports, the average wage for these bank workers at the banks was $90,000 a year.

It shouldn't be necessary to spell it out for those elected officials who have continually shafted the American worker, but I'm going to anyway. WE ARE IN A RECESSION. BANKS ARE GOING BUST. LAYOFFS ABOUND ON MAIN STREET AS WELL AS WALL STREET. THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF WORKERS. And yet, once again, the unbelievable has happened. With breathtaking selfishness American Corporations who are getting $Billions of bailout bucks have jettisoned American workers and probably lied on their applications to the government for foreign workers.

And, it is not just bank workers. Remember the jobs of the future? Remember how we were consoled when we fretted about exporting so many of our manufacturing jobs over the last decade and a half? Remember what we were told? "Service industry and Technology." Yeah, those "jobs of the future." Well, it seems that these corporations have found a way to shaft American service industry and technology workers as well.

From the story; “Beyond seeking approval for visas from the government, banks that accepted federal bailout money also enlisted uncounted foreign workers, often in technology jobs, through intermediary companies known as "body shops." Such businesses are the top recipients of the H-1B visas.”

How nice.

The beat goes on. And yet there are still those who haven't joined the immigration reform and enforcement movement. What will it take to get them off the fence?

Well, like they say, when your neighbor loses his job it's a recession, when you lose your job, it's a depression.

While America slept, patriots wept.

It's pretty obvious that the corporations are going for the cheap labor. They don't give a rip about hiring Americans. Foreigners are cheaper. I heard something interesting on the radio the other day. I didn't catch the guy's name, or the title of his book. He was an author being interviewed, and was on the book tour circuit. He claims that the Mexican government is corrupt from top to bottom.
He said that the Mexican ruling party is allied with the Sinaloa drug cartel. The drug cartels have infiltrated every level of the government. The cartels are warring with each other for control of the billions of dollars the drug trade brings in.
I think that's another element that drives the Mexicans up here. They are refugees from their own f***ed-up country because Mexico is in chaos.

No doubt, Jackson. It starts with their acknowledgement of the lack of opportunity in Mexico, then the recognition of an impenetrable corrupt ruling class. Add to that a few heads scattered around, actually more than a few, and yeah they have an additional motivation to come here. If Mexico collapses, the chaos today will look like the shift change at Disneyland. We will be faced with millions of Mexicans wanting to escape, understandably. General Pershing, send us a plan.

I would certainly hope that everybody gets it,but unfortunately,not everybody does.This country is one big,I mean "real big", SHIP.Each passenger has their own idea about issues,or no farking idea at all.This ship is going down,mainly because "all hands" are not on the same page.Some of us have heard the call to"General quarters".....quite some time ago.Some think they heard something,but aren't sure.And many are still asleep in their bunks,whilst the ship burns,each hour,burning down,closer to the waterline.Many of the passengers on this "Ship",are "stowaways".They are not on the ships ledger,they are not registered,they did'nt pay the fare,they snuck on illegally.They aren't pulling their weight of the ship duties,and they are working "AGAINST " the rest of the crew.They are DEAD WEIGHT,or even,a pestilence,that is spreading around the ship,further imperiling the welfare of the rest of the passengers,and hampering the forward progress of the vessel.We need to ERADICATE the pestilence,the "Rats",the "Stowaways",NOW,while there is still a ships keel underneath us.ANYONE,who is doing nothing to help,who stands idle,as the ship lists precariously,is just as guilty as the aforementioned Rats.......GET IT NOW,AMERICANS!!!! AND MOVE WITH A PURPOSE!!!!
