United States citizenship represents the greatest honor our nation can grant an alien. It also represents the “Keys to the kingdom” inasmuch as unlike many other countries, the United States makes no distinction between naturalized citizens and citizens who acquire their citizenship through birth. U.S. naturalized citizens have held government leadership positions including governors, judges, congressmen and high-ranking members of the armed forces.
While the advocates for open borders and many of our political leaders often claim that virtually all aliens who enter our country simply want their share of the “American Dream,” in fact, there are aliens who enter our country to evade law enforcement authorities in their home countries or other countries where they are wanted for committing heinous crimes or enter our country with the intentions of committing crimes and may belong to transnational gangs.

Today, many American workers are being locked out of their jobs. The companies that fire them or refuse to hire them are not doing without workers; these companies take these actions because they have a readily available source of workers, workers who can be imported from overseas!
There is a famous question that asks, "If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there, does it make a sound?" I would suggest a slightly different question, "If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there, does it matter if it makes a sound?"
A debate is currently raging on Capitol Hill about an immigration bill that has been proposed by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (H.R. 2164). I have had the privilege of appearing before a number of Congressional hearings at the behest of Mr. Smith and have worked closely with him and his staffers for a number of years and consider him to be a true leader in efforts to secure our nation's borders and enforce our nation's immigration laws.
