Howard Industries faces American workers

By Mark Cromer
August 28, 2008

I saw the headline over my morning coffee: ‘Immigration Raid Rocks Small Town.’ The story that followed described in detail the alleged chaos, fear and heartbreak caused by Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s raid on a Howard Industries plant in Mississippi.

The raid was apparently the largest ever undertaken at a single workplace and it netted nearly 600 people who have no legal right to be in the nation, let alone working here.

White Twilight

The changing face of America poses real risks
August 18, 2008

By Mark Cromer

If Sen. Barack Obama’s candidacy has indeed placed race in the spotlight again this election season, then the Census Bureau’s new projections that white America is fading into minority status much faster than previously thought offers a glaring view of the fissures that continue to spider-web our republic.

Sanctuary, Bloody Sanctuary

San Francisco’s arrogance provides a brutal reality check on illegal immigration

Absolut Poppycock

America’s sovereignty is threatened by the Teetotaler-in-Chief, not a Swedish vodka’s ad campaign

By Mark Cromer

In an era that has seen product branding elevated to high art and marketing strategies crafted as holy rites in the religion of mass consumerism, the Absolut vodka company’s recent decision to spike the punch bowl with an intentionally provocative ad should hardly be surprising—or cause for much hyperbolic consternation.

Sunlight in the Shadowlands

Sunlight in the Shadowlands
Actual background checks for illegal immigrants is pure fiction

By Mark Cromer

Those who bristle at the American people’s refusal to support yet another mass amnesty for illegal immigrants frequently cite the need to bring them into the sunshine of the system in order to determine the true identities of the millions who, as the cliché has it; live in the shadows.
