Ad Campaign Targets Sanctuary Status in California and across the Nation

(Ventura, CA)  Californians for Populations Stabilization (CAPS) has launched a television, radio and digital ad campaign highlighting the dangers of ‘sanctuary’ policies in California and other states and municipalities.  The commercial features a Los Angeles father whose son was killed by an illegal alien.  The ads will run in California and Washington, DC, and inform the public of the dangers associated with allowing criminal illegal aliens to remain in the US.

Audiences are urged to visit https://www.stopsanctuary.com, which provides Americans with information to fight against the sanctuary status that endangers their communities. It includes an interactive map, news articles and helpful resources.

“California’s government is putting the safety and property of law-abiding citizens at risk,” said Ric Oberlink, CAPS Executive Director.  “Allowing criminal illegal aliens to return to the communities they have harmed rather than turning them over to federal authorities is dangerous.”

Despite lawsuits from the federal government and local municipalities, California’s SB 54 remains on the books, making California a ‘Sanctuary State’.  Although a state court ruled that California’s sanctuary law is unconstitutional as it applies to charter cities, state Atty. Gen. Xavier Becerra said that the state would continue to enforce its laws and not “be undermined by contrary local rules.”

“Public safety is at risk when we tell criminals they won’t face the full extent of the law,” Oberlink continued. “We must end the practice of protecting criminals and, instead, making victims out of law-abiding citizens.”

In Oregon, voters have placed an initiative on the November ballot to overturn the state’s sanctuary law. Concerned Californians are planning for such an initiative for the 2020 ballot.

The six-figure advertising campaign will educate the public and encourage them to take action to help keep their communities safe.
