Population Group Opposes Proposition 4

SANTA BARBARA - Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) opposes Proposition 4 on the California ballot. The organization’s spokesperson said that it is important that women have the ability to choose when and if to have children, and opponents fear that some young girls will seek out dangerous, and/or illegal abortions or have a child that no responsible adult will be responsible for rather than notify their parents that they are pregnant.

SANTA BARBARA, CA. – Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) has launched an ad campaign in California TV markets.  The TV spots point out that when immigrants settle in the U.S., their energy use quickly becomes Americanized. As a result their carbon emissions skyrocket.  The result is a quadrupling of immigrants’ carbon footprints compared to the amount of carbon emissions they produced in their home countries.

The ads, which will appear in major national publications, are a response to a Census Bureau report that the U.S. population will rise to 439 million by 2050, or 135 million more than today.
