DHS

Safety First

On July 27, 2006 I testified before the House Subcommittee on Immigration Border and Security Claims on the topic:

DHS Releases Criminal Aliens: “On What Authority?”

From the moment President Obama authorized thousands of criminal aliens released, outrage has boiled over. Even though detaining criminal aliens costs peanuts, an average $164 daily, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano disingenuously referred to releasing them as a budget saving sequestration measure. But, the joke is on innocent citizens--- budget cuts haven’t been and never may be made. Freeing criminals---alien or otherwise--- is dangerous and, as carried out by Napolitano, legally indefensible.

Audit: Feds' immigration check system fails 12 percent of the time

On December 18, 2012 the Washington Times published a story about a Department of Homeland Security Inspector General report that incompetence and ineptitude at USCIS is so rampant that criminal aliens stay in the United States and obtain jobs in sensitive locations and participate in various social welfare programs.

More Document Fraud: Nearly One Million U.S.-VISIT Visas Have Fingerprint, Name Mismatches

During the first year of my long career as an English as a Second Language teacher, one of my administrative challenges was taking roll and keeping an accurate tally of who attended and on which dates. Since the classes were large, I’d leave a sign-in sheet on my desk. The students would sign and go to their seats. But I soon realized that the same person used different names on different days. Their names didn’t always match their registration forms.

Mark Your Calendar: August 15 is "Anti-American Labor Day"

No one is surprised but millions of Americans are disappointed and angry. The estimated number of work permits to be issued to alien DREAMers now stands at 1.8 million.

Obama’s Amnesty "Outline" Indicates Little Attention to Detail

The time honored Washington D.C. tradition is to use late Friday afternoon to announce news that it knows will be unpopular. When the Friday in question arrives during the summer months, so much better for those who bear grim tidings. In this case Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas were up to promoting their usual pro-alien, anti-American agenda.

Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop; DHS to Automatically Approve All Amnesty Applicants?

Whether the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies can efficiently process and approve the more than 1 million prosecutorial discretion applications soon to be submitted by illegal aliens age 16-30 is not the question. They cannot. Even the DHS realizes the futility of the task it faces.  As its first course of action, DHS immediately advised would be applicants that it will not accept requests until August 15.

California Assembly Introduces More Poisonous Legislation: Work Permits for Aliens

Once again, California is on the cutting edge of aiding and abetting illegal immigration. Whenever Californians think we've seen it all---as we did with the California Dream Act that provides aliens with instate tuition despite the state’s ever-deepening deficit and soaring education costs--- legislators always have another subversive trick up their sleeves.

Manager for Violent Fraudulent Document Ring Sentenced to Two Life Sentences for Murdering Rival Vendor

A news release issued on March 2, 2012 by both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) addresses the imposition of two life prison sentences on a key player in a fraud document ring that used acts of extreme violence committed within the United States as a means of protecting his turf; turf to be found in 19 American cities located in 11 American states.  Meanwhile, Janet Napol

Too bad we can count!

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) along with the Office of Immigration Statistics (OIS) conducted their annual study of unauthorized immigrant populations residing in the US.  In short, the study explores the number of illegal aliens in the US in 2010, where they are from, how long they have been here, etc.
